Society of Dyers and Colourists
Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) is a global body and outstanding provider of colour education, offering a range of internationally recognised colouration courses and qualifications. Its mission is to educate the world in the science of colour.
“By involving Scriba in this event, our limited staff time could be optimised before and at the event. SDC staff were able to focus on engaging with attendees and ensuring they keep in contact and attend other events (which some have already done). Scriba looked after all the details and the event was therefore high quality, professional and appreciated by all. Next one is in London!”
Dr Graham Clayton, Chief Executive Officer, Society of Dyers and Colourists
An industry body that offers both individual and company membership to those operating within the fashion, textile and colouration sectors, SDC wanted to launch a series of networking events across the UK. The objective was to provide both members and non-members with the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and foster new collaborations — as well as learn more about the benefits of a membership with the SDC.
The aim of the first regional was to offer attendees the chance to engage in lively discussions, exchange ideas, and hear from expert speakers. There would also be the opportunity to connect with other professionals, expand their network, and gain valuable insight from those working in the fashion and textile trades in and around the Midlands region of the UK.
Scriba PR managed an end-to-end event project for the SDC to help increase its presence with its members and other coloration professionals in and around Birmingham, UK. The project also saw Manto Films tasked with filming and creating a series of one-minute videos to be used across the SDC’s social media channels to promote future events across the UK, as well as convey membership benefits to companies and individuals alike. Scriba’s sister agency, The Bigger Boat, stepped in to design a multitude of printable assets that were displayed on the night.
With the agreed date, time, and location confirmed, we were instrumental in organising the event in its entirety, as well as securing relevant keynote speakers and attracting attendees.
Alongside management of the SDC’s first regional networking event, we took care of the full communications plan. This included social media management, Eventbrite page curation, an email nurture series to existing contacts, LinkedIn InMails and webpage updates.
The Society of Dyers and Colourists is a retained client of Scriba PR. We continue to support the global organisation in its mission to educate the world in the science of colour. Retainer activity spans the full breadth of Scriba’s services.
