Brentwood’s newest broadband provider announces winner of 10 years’ free service

Next-generation broadband provider BeFibre – which is set to connect 14,000 residents with 13 times faster fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband* – has awarded a Brentwood resident with a free 10-year contract.

Committed to working closely with local authorities and stakeholders in every new area the team enters, plans are well underway to provide full-fibre coverage to one million premises – spanning 80 UK towns and cities – by 2027. Brentwood was announced on the ambitious build plan in March 2022.

And having entered BeFibre’s competition on 26th March 2022 to win 10 years’ free service, worth over £6,000, Tony Morgan, of Ingrave Road in Brentwood, has been announced as the lucky recipient.

With BeFibre, Tony and his family will have access to 900Mbps of upload and download internet speeds – enabling them to access any device without buffering, upload 100 Instagram photos in five seconds, download a one-hour TV programme in seven seconds and 500 Spotify songs in 25 seconds, as well as an entire new-release PS5 game in only 14 minutes.

Speaking about his competition win, Tony said: “I couldn’t believe it, I’ve never really won anything before. This will make such a big difference in our home.

“Like many other people, our broadband usage has spiked since Covid-19 and so when anyone’s working from home, it’s impossible to do anything without a good connection. BeFibre’s perfect for logging onto my laptop when I’m remote, and I can check emails and attend quality video calls without a glitch.

“During our family downtime too, we can stream films quickly and it easily copes with the bandwidth needed for gaming, YouTube, and having four or five smartphones all going at the same time. Both the broadband provision and the BeFibre team have been impressive throughout.”

Rob Andrews, chief marketing communications officer at BeFibre, said: “This is a fiercely crowded market. However, by not breaking promises, giving customers guaranteed speeds, and delivering first class customer service, this is broadband as it should be.

“We’re providing local communities with a fit-for-the-future infrastructure that delivers the guaranteed speeds people need now and for years to come.”

Commenting on the introduction of BeFibre’s full-fibre connectivity to the town, Brentwood Borough Council leader, Cllr Chris Hossack, said: “Firstly, congratulations to Mr Morgan. Secondly, it’s great to see BeFibre investing significantly in the borough to drive forward digital connectivity for our residents, especially at a time when work from home is ever-increasing.”

BeFibre has unveiled four broadband packages to suit the diverse needs of Brentwood’s residents. With the brand’s classic package starting at £29 per month – typically twice as fast as properties’ existing service – there are also higher speed options, to suit busy families, multi-device households, and gaming professionals.
