My first week at Scriba PR

It’s certainly been a whirlwind of a week, but I couldn’t feel more at home if I tried.

Five days down (just) and I feel like I have been here five weeks already, in the best way possible! This isn’t my first rodeo with Scriba PR. I have been fortunate to work closely with the ever-growing team on a number of client projects over the past three and a half years, and have known Katie and the company since the very beginning.

As a result, I am incredibly lucky not to have experienced that ‘first-day’ dread of feeling like a complete newbie when walking into the office on Monday, which most have when starting a new role. I am continuously inspired by the Scriba team, they are confident in what they do and are totally transparent in sticking to the jobs that they do best. They trust their chosen partners to complement their skill set in areas they can’t fulfil in house, but are also pioneers for their clients in the process — making sure a job gets done well. I am already looking forward to getting stuck in, enhancing and growing client and partner relationships alongside the team.

In my first week, I have already been given intros to the clients I will be working on, and have been getting to the heart of the Scriba brand that I have seen evolve in front of me since I was first introduced to the business seven years ago. It’s been a busy week of processes, lots of reading, team lunches (fun!), and some internal upskilling in the form of video training.

Scriba recognises that there is now almost no option to pick between the traditional and digital communication routes and that, actually, they work in tandem. I am energised by the fact my integrated agency and digital experience will bolster the growth of this activity within the business. I can bring a full vision approach to clients who are looking for support across the wider marketing mix. It feels second nature for me to streamline all marketing activity and to ensure all efforts work to complement each other — rather than operating in isolation. I am certainly looking forward to doing this with Scriba’s clients across a broader service offering.

What really makes me tick? Content (in its many forms) has always been ‘my bag’ and having previously led in building a social content team, I am inspired by creating exciting and engaging communications for clients — especially where the activities provide tangible results. I love storytelling because the ways in which you can relay a message are endless, and I am excited to be around this on a daily basis.

Katie has been a strong mentor to me in my career to date and I get great pleasure in now being able to officially count myself as one of her team.

Here’s to the future at Scriba PR.
