Scriba MD joins University advisory board

Scriba PR’s founder and managing director Katie Mallinson has joined Huddersfield Business School’s Advisory Board, part of the University of Huddersfield - 15 years after she graduated from the same place.

No stranger to the campus, she has given back through an array of initiatives, from delivering guest lectures to offering her advice via ‘meet the expert’ sessions with budding young entrepreneurs. She has also provided work experience opportunities for students and employed a number of alumni over the years, as the Scriba team has grown.

But with 17 years’ PR and marketing experience under her belt - including a decade spent running her own business - Katie was invited back, this time to join the Board.

As the institution’s website explains: “At Huddersfield Business School, we’re passionate about providing our students with inspirational and innovative industry knowledge to enhance their learning experience. Huddersfield Business School’s Advisory Board plays a crucial role in supporting this by guiding the School with industry recommendations, curriculum development, research and general advice about directions and trends from their industry.

“Our Advisory Board is made up of leading industry experts who hold various senior positions within businesses and the public sector. The Advisory Board aims to strengthen our School’s links with industry and professions to provide input into the academic and strategic direction of Huddersfield Business School.”

One of eight Advisory Board members, Katie explains why she accepted the offer to join: “I am extremely passionate about the Business School, and am proud to have graduated from there. From its research prowess and reputation on an international education stage, to the rounded experience and employability of graduating students, this is an outstanding place to learn.

“As the Advisory Board looks to the future of the School and its onward success, I hope I can offer some professional and employer insight that will help the University continually nurture a curriculum that delivers maximum value for students and the business environment alike.

“From sustainability to student recruitment, this is a thriving and extremely forward-looking School. I think it’s important that Advisory Board members match the level of ambition held here.”

Katie also features on the University’s 175th anniversary alumni roll of honour
