Scriba PR x The Bigger Boat: our post-acquisition progress
Six months have passed since, and it's time to showcase the remarkable work we've been doing during this transformative period, evidencing that we're more committed than ever to delivering high-quality work that adds exceptional value to our clients.
Integration and collaboration
One of our initial primary objectives was to foster closer integration between the teams. Scriba PR and The Bigger Boat share a common mission – telling our clients' stories through compelling words and captivating visuals.
Our efforts to work together closely on shared accounts have proven to be a resounding success, both for our clients, and by upskilling our team members across the board.
Media coverage highlights
Since July, we've achieved some impressive media coverage for our clients, raising their profile, increasing their brand awareness, and supporting them in meeting their business goals.
A few notable highlights include:
Securing a feature in the prestigious FT Adviser (part of the Financial Times) for PFP Wealth’s Sajmira Cairns, regarding the flexibility of a career in paraplanning.
Pitching successfully for a feature in The Independent on behalf of client e-volveHR, with a focus on Sarah Stevens, co-founder, and HR consultancy director, discussing the importance of executives leaving the boardroom.
Securing valuable coverage in the Daily Mail for industrial laundry cleaner Regenex, shedding light on sustainable practices in the hospitality industry.
These achievements are not all, with several more noteworthy pieces placed, including:
Moorepay’s HR services director, Michelle Hobson’s article in the HR Magazine.
e-volveHR‘s senior people partner Sarah Smith’s piece in Employer News.
Mizaic CEO John Pickering’s comments in ERP Today.
CEO of Tiger Ben Nicklen’s opinion in FE News.
Dr Stephen Wise’s insights in Waste Advantage Magazine on behalf of Advetec.
An interview on BBC radio Leeds for charity client, Town Foundation.
Moorepay’s Sarah Dowzell podcast interview with SheCanCode, a collaborative community working to close the gender gap in tech.
And we’ve so much more to share, with top-drawer coverage being secured every day, that we simply don’t have space to include here — check out our LinkedIn for more.
Awards
Celebrating our clients' successes is one of our key priorities. We're proud to have secured an array of prestigious awards, recognising the important and often groundbreaking work of our clients. Some examples include:
Advetec North America’s Scott Owen’s inclusion in the 'Movers and Influencers' list via Florida Trend.
Axiologic’s recognition as a finalist in the Prolific North Tech Awards 2023, shortlisted for 'Tech Agency of The Year' and 'Rising Star Award.' Team member Polly Price, nominated as the 'rising star,' received 'highly commended' recognition from the judges.
Bailie Group’s win in the ‘Family Business of the Year’ category at Business Leaders The Scale-up Awards.
Events
In addition to our media achievements, our team has excelled in event planning and management:
Team members Lauren Spencer, Rosie and Kirstie facilitated the inaugural 'CloudVision' event for MSP CloudCoCo, featuring renowned speakers and earning great feedback from attendees — with the next event already in the pipeline based on the success of the first.
Grace and Beth led the successful internal session for BeFibre, inspiring 70 staff members from across the UK for a productive Q4 and a brighter future. See Grace’s round-up, via LinkedIn.
The Society of Dyers and Colourists team, Beth and Lauren Boyles, fully managed the membership organisation’s regional event in the Midlands, securing the speakers, and preparing all pre- and post-event comms, as well as preparing promotional materials and merchandise. Find out more about it here.
Event organisation and management are integral parts of our service offering. If you need any help with the planning and execution of an event in 2024, including the surrounding comms and any supporting resources, get in touch.
Hero assets
Our hero assets, such as guides and whitepapers, have played a vital role in lead generation and showcasing our clients’ in-depth subject knowledge and expertise. Some great pieces of content we’ve enjoyed creating in the last six months include:
Trenches Law's guide on 'MDUs: Improving gigabit broadband access for Britain’s most underprivileged residents' highlights the importance of wayleave in bridging the digital divide, generating leads for the law firm.
Mizaic's guide on 'Building the economic case for an NHS EDMS' explores critical healthcare challenges and positions the organisation as a thought leader.
Natural HR's research report 'HR in 2023 and beyond' offers valuable insights into the future of HR, and '10 HR stats to take to the board' provides actionable data for decision-makers.
Connect Childcare's 'Parental engagement’ survey is a helpful resource for those in the childcare sector, resulting in further media coverage in key trade titles.
Joint projects
Another goal post-acquisition was to enhance the services we offer to our existing customers, across both agencies. An example of this was the successful launch of Mizaic’s new brand (formerly IMMJ Systems) — utilising The Bigger Boat’s creative and digital capabilities to create and disseminate the brand internally, with Scriba PR’s comms expertise coming to the fore to propel the news externally to the media, industry, and other stakeholders.
We're also excited about our upcoming projects with fire safety specialist, CheckFire.
This is just the beginning of our joint ventures as we leverage the combined skills and experience of our teams.
Company news
In addition to the day-to-day work we’re carrying out for our clients, we’ve also had some exciting additions to the team. Kirstie Wilson joins as PR account director, bringing her wealth of expertise and strategic skills. We were also very happy to welcome Victoria Herasym as a marketing executive, initially starting with us for work experience and impressing us enough to earn a permanent position.
And stay tuned for our upcoming announcement of a new charity partnership in January, showcasing our commitment to giving back to the community.
Joint social events
Our collaboration with The Bigger Boat has extended beyond the professional realm. We've fostered team spirit through joint social events, to support and encourage the integration of the teams into one group.
We kicked off with our first joint team away day, where all colleagues met at the picturesque Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The day was filled with learning, team-building activities, and guest speakers. Despite the inclement weather, a memorable scavenger hunt added to the excitement — and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
We also celebrated our first joint Christmas party on Friday, December 8th, at YurtBar in Sale, Manchester. It was an evening of food, fizz, and festive fun, and enabled team members to let their hair down and get to know each other properly, in a relaxed setting.
Looking ahead
We’re now poised for an exciting 2024, with our partnership serving to ensure we grow stronger by granting both sides further access to a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience. We’re looking forward to the opportunities and challenges the new year will bring, and we're committed to exploring the full potential of our coming together as one formidable team.
And if your 2024 goal is to up your game when it comes to communications, PR and wider marketing activity, give us a call — we’re now able to offer more than ever.
