Having spent nearly two decades leading teams and transforming service offerings at organisations including Oracle, Vodafone, ECI Telecoms and Energis, Ben has supported these companies, and others, to build on their international presence, improve efficiency, and boost ROI.

His appointment as director of sales and marketing further strengthens the experience of Flomatik’s Executive Steering Group (ESG) – the business’s senior leadership team which has put in place a strategy to take the organisation to the next phase of its development.

It’s my mission to help our company grow even further and diversify our already impactful offering. We want to both continue supporting traditional telecoms and altnet disruptors, but also become the go-to network services provider in the power, water, road and rail sectors.

With less than a month to prepare, the Scriba team ‘learnt as we went’ once appointed as the ‘bolt-on’ press office for the 10-stop tour – which targeted an incredibly niche audience.

We were tasked with demonstrating value for participants by raising awareness of the progress being made in this space, while providing a forum for debate, networking, and opportunity exploration – as well as bringing key stakeholders together under one roof.

Alongside the management of a launch event in London, we took care of all media relations, social media management, launch event support, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the message was heard by the local community, regional industry, key media, and political stakeholders.

We’re one of Prolific North’s Top 50 PR agencies (again)!

For those of you that know the Scriba team personally, you’ll be well aware that we love celebrating the successes of others – but we’re often a little shy when to comes to ‘blowing our own trumpets’. However, on this occasion, we have some really exciting news to share…

Well, yes, the headline gives it away a little, but we’ll go for it anyway. Drum roll please…

We’ve been named as a Prolific North Top 50 PR agency for the third year in a row. Our humble brag comes as we are chalked up in 29th place – that’s a jump of 9 spots from 2020, and up 19 places from our initial position in 2019.

It’s been a heck of a year for the Scriba PR family, welcoming four new faces at various levels – not forgetting our newest recruit, Rosie Holt – delivering projects on almost every continent, watching our retained client list climb to 52, and growing turnover by 14%.

Throughout all that, we’ve never lost sight of Scriba’s overarching purpose or our sense of soul – and we have Scriba’s founder, Katie Mallinson, to thank for that.

Absolutely not. We remain wholly focused on what has been our sweet spot, since day one — words. But as our experience has grown, so too has our ability to ensure our words have maximum impact within our clients’ businesses. We’ve built some incredible relationships with trusted partners along the way too, so if we’re entrusted to cultivate a complete comms strategy, we can. Our priority isn’t who is enlisted to execute the strategy, but the outcomes that strategy will achieve.

Cliches aside, we take care of our clients’ budgets as though they’re our own. So even if a client who isn’t working with Scriba in an MDaaS capacity, asks for our opinion on some external spend, we’ll be extremely considered in our response. It’s all part of us being that critical friend. But as clients become familiar with our approach — everything from our straight-talking nature to the lengths we go to to integrate into your team — we’re often trusted to oversee so much more.

Not at all. Some clients come to Scriba knowing exactly which elements of our toolkit they need, and we deliver only those, whether we report into a marketing manager or a CEO. Other businesses require more upfront help, but they’re completely happy that, thereafter, we’re an arms-length extension of their team — as are we. The Marketing Director as a Service solution is available only if organisations need it. It won’t suit every client.

SENSE — strategy, engagement, narrative, shape, evaluation — describes Scriba’s approach to working with clients, regardless of size, budget, objectives, or team make-up. Every client project we have the pleasure of delivering, will have been cultivated with SENSE in mind.
